On June 24, 2013, at 0000 EDT, the Technical Support Center (TSC) will be unavailable due to a pre-planned facility upgrade project. The TSC is expected to be restored to operational status on July 1, 2013. If an emergency is declared requiring TSC activation during this period, the TSC will be staffed and activated using existing emergency planning procedures, and the TSC staff will be located at a preplanned alternate location in accordance with applicable site procedures. This notification is being made in accordance with 10CFR 50.72 (b)(3)(xiii) due to the loss of an emergency response facility (ERF). An update will be provided once the TSC has been restored to operational status. The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified. The upgrades will require structural changes to the TSC.

ENS 454157 October 2009 04:36:00This notification is being made pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to notification of other government agencies at 0320 EDT on 10/7/09. Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) has identified a Sodium Hypochlorite spill within the protected area at Plant Saint Lucie. The spill has been terminated and it is estimated that up to 240 lbs of Sodium Hypochlorite was spilled past the secondary containment of the hypochlorite tank. The precise volume of the spill is indeterminate at this time. This event poses no health or safety consequences to either on site personnel or the general public. Notification to the State of Florida Emergency Response Commission and the National Response Center was made in accordance with the Plant Saint Lucie hazardous material spill response procedure. The licensee has notified the NRC Resident Inspector.
