| ENS 55259 | 15 May 2021 00:55:00 | At approximately 1300 CDT on 05/14/2021, a contract worker, who was using a scaffold ladder to access their work area on the iso-phase bus duct system for the main transformers at the Callaway plant, fell approximately 27 feet to the ground. An ambulance was dispatched to transport the individual to a local hospital. Union Electric (Ameren Missouri) subsequently learned that the event caused the individual to have a serious injury that required an overnight hospital stay. This event is reportable to OSHA per 29 CFR 1904.39(a)(2) by the contract worker's employer and is reportable to the Missouri Public Service Commission in accordance with Missouri regulation 20 CSR 4240-3.190(3)(A). This notification is being made to the NRC pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) due to other government notifications that will occur as a result of a situation related to the health and safety of onsite personnel. The NRC Senior Resident Inspector has been notified of this event. The individual was not working in a contamination area. |
