ENS 4667213 March 2011 07:00:00Agreement StateAgreement State Report - Nuclear Gauges Recovered from Oil Rig FireNorth Dakota Department of Health (NDDH) notified the NRC of two nuclear gauges affected by a fire at an oil rig in Mckenzie County, North Dakota. The fire is out and one gauge has been retrieved with the shield intact with no unusual radiation readings. The second gauge has also been retrieved. There is no damage apparent to the second gauge except for some shifting of the lead shielding around the gauge. There was no unusual radiation levels, exposure or contamination impact to personnel. The gauges are Thermo-Fisher Scientific, model 5192. Arrangements are being made to ship both gauges to the manufacture for inspection and repair.
