ENS 5127630 July 2015 13:30:00Agreement StateAgreement State Report - Radiography Truck (with Camera) Stolen and RecoveredThe following report was received from the State of Oklahoma via e-mail: At about 0830 (CDT) American Piping Inspection, Inc., (license) OK-27438-02 (Tulsa, OK) reported to (the State of Oklahoma) that one of their radiography trucks was stolen and that there was a radiography camera on board. The truck has GPS and the company had tracked the truck to North Garnett Street in Tulsa, OK and the police were enroute. (At approximately 0930 CDT), "the radiography camera was recovered by the company (American Piping Inspection, Inc). The thieves were in the truck when the police arrived. The thieves departed the scene on foot and were not apprehended. There was no apparent damage to the truck or the camera. Device Model Number: Spec. G-60, containing 100 curies of IR-192. THIS MATERIAL EVENT CONTAINS A "CATEGORY 2" LEVEL OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL Category 2 sources, if not safely managed or securely protected, could cause permanent injury to a person who handled them, or were otherwise in contact with them, for a short time (minutes to hours). It could possibly be fatal to be close to this amount of unshielded radioactive material for a period of hours to days. These sources are typically used in practices such as industrial gamma radiography, high dose rate brachytherapy and medium dose rate brachytherapy.
