20555 Summary of the Disposition of NRC Generic Letters for the Year 1983 Shoreham Nuclear Power Station - Unit 1 Docket No. 50-322
Dear Mr. Denton:
The NRC generic letters for 1983 have been reviewed and the issues therein pertinent to the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station have been addressed.
This letter will serve to update our letter (SNRC-867 of June 7, 1983) and covers the subject for the calendar year 1983.
It is in furtherance of a request for this information by Mr. Ralph Caruso, Shoreham Project Manager for the NRC.
A check of 1983 generic letters not listed in Attachment I has indicated that they were not applicable to Shoreham.
The disposition of each generic letter received by LILCO is shown in Attachment I.

It announced issuance of formal RO and SRO License Certificates in revised format.
83-07 2/16/83 SNRC-932 of July 11, 1983 replies to this Generic Letter and establishes that LILCO/ DOE contract #DE-CR01-83NE 44392 has been entered into to satisfy its requirements.
83-09 2/8/83 A written response is not required for this Generic Letter as it is applicable to Combustion Engineering PWRs only.
83-11 2/8/83 LILCO's Nuclear Engineering Department Procedure 5.04 " Computer Program Docu-mentation and Verification," approved and issued by the Manager, Nuclear Engineering Department provides for computer code verification instructions as required by this generic letter.

The LILCO Maintenance Department has reviewed this generic letter and will use the stated definition of key maintenance personnel when implementing the NRC policy on working hours for personnel performing maintenance functions at the Plant.

ATWS events at Salem Generating Station was studied in a Special Project of the l
Shoreham Independent Safety Engineering Group (ISEG).
On April 19, 1983, ISEG's report of the Special Project concerning NUREG 0977 was transmitted to the Plant Manager for distribution to operations personnel and for use by responsible training personnel.
The Salem ATWS events are discussed in Shoreham'n Operator Training Program.
83-17 4/8/84 The concerns of this generic letter on Integrity of Requalification Examina-tions for Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator Licenses are well addressed under Shoreham Procedure S.P.
