Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Items of Interest Week Ending November 24, 2023 NRC Staff Issued the Final Safety Evaluation for Framatome Topical Report ANP-10340P, Revision 0, Incorporation of Chromia-Doped Fuel Properties in Framatome PWR Methods.
On November 16, 2023, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff issued the Final Safety Evaluation (SE) (ML23180A165) for Framatome Topical Report ANP-10340P, Revision 0, Incorporation of Chromia-Doped Fuel Properties in Framatome PWR Methods. The Final SE, dated October 16, 2023, references the Final SE (ML23233A151) for Framatome Topical Report ANP-10339P, Revision 0, ARITA-ARTEMIS/RELAP Integrated Transient Analysis Methodology, dated October 16, 2023. Doped pellets, an Accident Tolerant Fuel (ATF) near-term technology, is discussed further in the ATF Project Plan (ML21243A298).

On November 20, 2023, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) published a notice in the Federal Register (88 FR 80553) Confirming the effective date of December 18, 2023, for the direct final rule that was published in the Federal Register (88 FR 67929) on October 3, 2023.
The direct final rule amended the TN Americas LLC, Standardized NUHOMS Horizontal Modular Storage System for Irradiated Nuclear Fuel listing within the List of approved spent fuel storage casks to include Renewed Amendment No. 18 to Certificate of Compliance No.
1004.
Miscellaneous Corrections: Final Rule; 10 CFR Parts 9, 30, 50, 51, 70, and 110 [NRC-2023-0144; RIN 3150-AL04]
On November 21, 2023, the NRC published a final rule in the Federal Register (88 FR 80947) amending its regulations to make miscellaneous corrections. The amendments correct spelling and references; update contact information; and remove obsolete language. The final rule is effective on December 21, 2023.
