NRC Issues Letter to Kairos Power Providing Schedule and Resource Estimates for Construction Permit Application Review On December 15, 2021, the staff signed a letter to Kairos Power (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML21343A214) providing the schedule and resource estimates for the Hermes test reactor construction permit application review. The review is scheduled to be completed by September 2023 with a resource estimate of 18,000 hours0 days <br />0 hours <br />0 weeks <br />0 months <br /> and $280,000. These estimates include preparation of both the Final Safety Evaluation Report and the Final Environmental Impact Statement.
NRC Publishes Hermit Construction Permit Application Review Dashboard On December 21, 2021, NRR published a dashboard for the Hermes construction permit application review. The dashboards will provide a streamlined way the public to assess the status of the review. The dashboard is available at https://www.nrc.gov/reactors/non-power/hermes-kairos/dashboard.html. The dashboard is displaying data from various internal systems and, as the review matures, more data will be populated to provide further insights into the review status.
