Items of Interest Week Ending FEBRUARY 14, 2020 Staff Completed Inspection and Verification of a Closure Notification for the Vogtle Unit 3 Protection & Safety Monitoring System Inspections, Tests, Analyses and Acceptance Criteria On February 7, 2020, the Vogtle Project Office and Region ll's Division of Construction Oversight completed inspection and verification of a Closure Notification for the Vogtle Unit 3 Protection & Safety Monitoring System (PMS) Inspections, Tests, Analyses and Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC). PMS is the primary digital reactor trip and engineered safety feature actuation system for the Vogtle AP1000. This is the first staff verification of a significant digital instrumentation and control system at Vogtle. It is the culmination of over 10 years of inspection program development, which has included ACRS briefings, public meetings, inspection planning meetings, and tabletop exercises.
