Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Items of Interest Week Ending April 13, 2018 Open Phase Condition Inspection at Byron Generating Station The staff completed the open phase condition (OPC) temporary instruction (TI) inspection at Byron Generating Station on April 6, 2018. Byron Generating Station is the third of an initial set of inspections to be conducted under the OPC TI to determine whether licensees implemented the industry voluntary initiative to identify OPC vulnerabilities and update their licensing basis.
The staff expects to complete the initial set of four OPC TI inspections by mid-June, with the last of this initial set of inspections scheduled at St. Lucie for the week of June 11.
