Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Notice of Intent to Pursue License Renewal (ML091210103)
In Reference 1, the NRC describes the importance of providing advance notice of the intent to pursue license renewal. In Reference 2, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) informed the NRC of its planned dates for submittal of license renewal applications to the NRC. The purpose of this letter is to inform the NRC of changes to the previously provided schedule for submittal of license renewal applications.
RS-1 1-018 February 11,2011 Page 2 of 2 In Reference 2, EGC identified that the License Renewal Application submittal for Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2, would be September 2011. EGC plans to submit this application in June 2011.
EGC identified in Reference 2 that one License Renewal Application would be submitted in July 2013. That application will be a combined application for Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2 and Byron Station, Units 1 and 2. We are updating the submittal date for this combined application to the second quarter of 2013 (i.e. April to June 2013).
EGC plans to submit additional license renewal applications as follows:
One application in 1 st Quarter 2015 (i.e. January to March 2015)
One Application in 1 t Quarter 2017 (i.e. January to March 2017)
These dates supersede the schedule information provided in Reference 2. EGC is not prepared at this time to announce the specific plants for these latter two license renewal applications, and therefore requests that the NRC identify each of these plants as an "Unnamed Exelon Plant."
