Response to NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2008-16, "Preparation and Scheduling of Operator Licensing Examinations"
Reference:
NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2008-16, "Preparation and Scheduling of Operator Licensing Examinations," dated June 27, 2008 The referenced Regulatory Issue Summary requested that facility licensees provide a proposed schedule of operator licensing examinations and an estimate of the number of candidates requiring initial operator license examinations for calendar years 2009 through 2012, and the number of candidates requiring Generic Fundamentals Examinations for calendar years 2009 and 2010.
Attachments 1 through 10 provide responses for the Exelon Generation Company, LLC and AmerGen Energy Company, LLC plants identified above. The requested information for each facility is provided on a separate NRC Form 536.
In calendar year 2009, six candidates are expected to take the dual-site Limited Senior Reactor Operator (LSRO) initial license examination as indicated on Attachment 8. The schedule for the indicated examination is as follows : the written examination and a portion of the operating examination will be given at Limerick Generating Station (LGS); the remainder of the operating examination will be completed at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS). Since the LSRO examination is a dual-site examination that involves both LGS and PBAPS, rather than repeating the same information on both attachments, the examination scheduling information is provided on for PBAPS. Attachment 6 for LGS references Attachment 8 where appropriate.
