Certification of Permanent Cessation of Power Operations for Thn.:e Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit I On May 30, 2017, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) announced that it plans to prematurely retire the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station (TMI), Unit I due to severe economic challenges.
Therefore, pursuant to JO CFR 50.82(a)(l)(i) and 10 CFR 50.4(b)(8), Exelon certifies to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that it has decided to permanently cease power operations at TMI, Unit I on or about September 30, 2019.
There are no regulatory commitments contained in this submittal.
