Jaczko will hold a roundtable discussion with Vermont Yankee area-stakeholders in Brattleboro, Vt., Wednesday, July 14, and then visit the Vermont Yankee nuclear facility in nearby Vernon. The Chairman will also meet with reporters prior to his plant tour.

The roundtable discussion with invited stakeholders will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center, at 1380 Putney Road in Brattleboro, Vt.

Members of the public are invited to observe this discussion.

Following the roundtable, the Chairman will meet with reporters at 11:10 at the Ramada Hotel for a media availability.

The Chairman then will travel to Vermont Yankee. While there, he will meet with the NRC resident inspectors who carry out the NRCs inspection program at the site on a daily basis.

They are the eyes and ears of the agency on site. In addition, he will tour the site, talk with plant officials and hold an all-hands meeting with plant employees.

Chairman Jaczko was designated Chairman of the NRC by President Barack Obama on May 13, 2009. He was first sworn in as a Commissioner on Jan. 21, 2005, and his term runs through June 2013.
