Berryman as the new NRC resident inspector at Indian Point 3 in Buchanan, N.Y. He joins Senior Resident Inspector Peter Drysdale at Unit 3.

Mark Cox, who had been stationed at Unit 3, has been reassigned to Unit 2. He replaces Lois James who took a position at NRC headquarters in Rockville, Md.

Berryman joined the Region I office in July 2002 as a reactor inspector in the Electrical Engineering Branch of the Division of Reactor Safety. Prior to joining the agency, he served as a submarine officer in the United States Navy. He also worked for CAE Marine Systems in Leesburg, Va., and as a pilot and aircraft systems instructor for CommutAir. Hes currently a lieutenant-commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Berryman earned a bachelors degree in systems engineering from the United States Naval Academy.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors.

They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring significant work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
