June 1987 Operations Summary At the.beginning of the month, pover operations and Test Condition 3 startap testing continued with the plant operating at reactor thermal power levels as high as 75%.

On June 17, Test Condition 3 was completed when the reactor was automatically shut down as a result of MSIV closure. Test Condition 3 reviews were completed and the plant was restarted on June 20, until concerns with a condensate valvc led to a manual shutdown. These concerns were quickly resolved and the plant re-entered Operational condition 2 on June 22, increased power and entered Operational Condition 1 the next day. Test condition 5 was completed on June 26, immediately followed by Test Condition 4, which was completed the next day.

Each of these Tert Conditions were completed more rapidly than their echeduled time duration. Test Condition 6 was entered on June 27 und the plant achieved 100% reactor thermal power for the first time on June 29, producing 1200 MW of electricity. At the end of the conth, the plant reduced power and was maliually shut down due to a leak in the generator cooling system.
