Palisades Nuclear Plant Commitments to Address Safety Injection Refueling Water Tank and Control Room Concrete Support Structure Leakage, dated June 26,2013 (ADAMS Accession No. ML13177A280)
Dear Sir or Madam:
Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (ENO) submitted Reference 1 containing five commitments related to monitoring and repairs of the safety injection refueling water (SIRW) tank at the Palisades Nuclear Plant (PNP). Subsequently, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL) dated July 17, 2012 (Reference 2), which reiterated those commitments.
PNP 2014-006 Page 2 On June 20, 2013, ENO submitted Reference 3 to close three of the commitments and revise two of the commitments. Subsequently, the NRC issued Revision 1 of the CAL dated June 26, 2013 (Reference 4), which confirmed closure of the three commitments and revision to the two commitments.
This letter provides notification that all five commitments related to NRC Order EA-12-155 are now closed. Documentation of closure of the actions is available for review at PNP.

Revised CAL Commitment 1 :
ENO will continue inspections of the concrete support structure above the control room, control room hallway, and the concrete support structure ceiling as prescribed in the approved Operations Standing Order. These inspections are to ensure that the temporary modifications installed to prevent impact to safety-related structures, systems and components are performing their intended functions.
Resolution:
Permanent plant modifications have been made and maintenance has been performed to prevent impact to safety-related structures, systems and components. The Operations Standing Order has been cancelled.
Revised CAL Commitment 2:
ENO will correct the adverse condition related to cracking of the concrete support structure around the ceiling of the control room, which could lead to water intrusion, prior to restart from the next refueling outage.
Resolution:
Permanent plant modifications have been made and maintenance has been performed to correct the adverse condition. The next refueling outage is scheduled to start on January 19, 2014.
