OVEREXPOSURE OF RADIOGRAPHER (STATE OF OREGON LICENSEE)
Martha Debblic, Oregon Health Division, notified the Region V office of an overexposure to a radiographer from a 50 Ci Co60 source.
There is reason to believe that the radiographer came in physical contact with the source, however, the amount of exposure has not been determined, since there is uncertainty in the actual time of exposure. Initial estimates are that the time range of exposure is approximately 5 see to 5 min. The radiographer has undergono preliminary medical examinations. The Oregon Radiation Control Section is investigatira the circumstances of the exposure.
