SUJBECT:
By letter dated March 26, 1981, Houston Lighting and Power Company (HL&PN has requested an expansion of the previously authorized ASME safety-related welding. The request for expansion of the ASME welding and related activities is to be specifically in accoroance with a 12 Week Work Plan covering nine new areas and will include both stainless and carbon steel.
Based on Region IV inspector evaluation of the present ASME welding activities, the expansion of the ASME welding as defined in the 12 Week Work Plan (Attachment I to HL&P letter, dated Maren 25,1981) is being allcwed, as requested by HL&P.
A press release was made on Maren 31, 1981, by HL&P.
Site construction progress is currently reported as 56". for Unit 1 and 205 for Unit 2.
