INJURED WORKER The licensee declared an Unusual Event at 5:25 p.m.(EDT), July 23, 1987, when a contractor 1
employee wearing slightly contaminated clothing was transported by ambulance to a local l hospital after suffering a back injury in the Unit 1 Containment.

The decision was made not to remove the individual's clothing (he was wearing anti-contamination clothing at the time) until he reached the hospital. He was accompanied by three licensee Health Physics technicians.
When the clothing was removed, surveys of the individual and the hospital showed no contamination. The individual was admitted. The Unusual Event was terminated at 6:51 p.m.
(EDT).
