RETURN TO OPERATl'ON POLLOWING AN EXTENDED OUTAGE DUE TO EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION Unit 2 resumed operation at 2:20 p.m.

on December 10, 1980, concluding an outage which began on October 18,

1980, when a short occurred in the main generator.

Four generator stator bars were rebuilt onsite and the generator has been returned to service.

The unit is currently operating at 64% power and is in a power escalation program.

The State of Michigan will be notifjed.

Neither the licensee nor Region III plan to issue a press. release.
