NOTIFICATION OF UNUSUAL EVENT; SHUTDOWN TO REPAIR VALVE LEAK On.May 20 while in hot shutdown, the licensee identified that a non-isolable leak existed on the 2-inch isolation valve for the A reactor coolant loop stop valve bypass flow instrument.

The leak, characterized as:a 2-inch steam plume, originated from a pin-hole type through-wall de~ect in the valve bonnet.

The licensee is currently developing plans to.isolate and replace the valve.

Per their emergency plan the licensee was in a Notification of Unusual Event classification from the initiation of the Technical Specification required shutdown due to a non-isolable leak at 4:24 p.m. on May 20 until 7:13 a.m. on May 21, when the unit obtained cold shutdown.

Prior to this discovery, the licensee was in the process of starting up from a shutdown on May 10 to repair a non-isolable leak on the seal inj*ection line to the Unit 1 C reactor coolant pump.

The Commonwealth of Virginia was informed.

The licensee does not plan to ma~e a press release.
