ILLEGALDRUG FOUND INSIDE PROTECTED AREA On February 19, 1997, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a licensee security officer discovered a glass tube with a white powder substance at one end ofthe tube. The tube was found in a portable toilet, temporarily placed inside the protected area at the Turkey Point Nuclear Plantain preparation for a unit outage.
The tube fell from a ledge above the door while the portable toilet was being cleaned. Metro Dade Police ilare notified and took possession ofthe glass tube, which testing idergjfied as containing crack cocaine. The licensee has inspected alFthe similar portable toilets onsite and is considering additional follomfpactin.
The licensee's investigation is continuing. The State ofFlofida +s been notified.
