The Augmented Inspection Team (AIT) arrived at McGuire on December 29, 1993. The team has begun its investigation of f e loss of'the off-site power-event that occurred on December 27, 1993. A Confirmation of Action ,

tLetter has been issued that requires the licensee to evaluate equipment andfpersonnel response for the event including the cause of the electrical faults, the "B" main steam isolation valve failure anu .he 4

evaluation of the integrity and impact of the dry steam generator.

Restart of the Unit requires concurrence of the NRC. '

Press: releases have been issued by the NRC and licensee. At the present '

time'the licensee has not issued a recovery schedule. The licensee has initiated a Recovery Team and a Significant Event Investigation Team (SEF") to investigate the root cause of the event.
