NOBLE GAS RELEASE O

u During startup after shutdown for repair of a primary system valve peding leak, a 0.5 Curie release occurred on November 16, 1980 from 3:50 pm to 4:25 pm when the turbine was being placed on line.

Increases in Recombiner Room and Roof Vent radioactivity monitors were noted, and a slight increase in air ejector exhaust pressure was observed.

A blown air ejector loop seal was fcund and restored, and the release stopped.

There was no measured personnel exposure, and no plant or personnel contamination.

The licensee made a press release on November 16, No NRC press release is planned. Region I is responding to inedia inquiries.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of Maryland have been informed.

An ENS report was made to the NRC Duty Officer about 6:20 pm, November 16.

The resident inspector was informed by the licensee about 6:30 pm, November 16.
