Dear Mr. Schwencer:
This letter is provided to revise the scheduled completion date for the Susquehanna SES Units 1 and 2 Safety Param ter Display Systems.
As you are aware fram previous correspondence, we have been encountering difficulties.
with testing and installation of the systems.
We have recently evaluated the status of remaining work and have projected a completion date for both units no later than July 1, 1984.
Based on our evaluation, we are requesting that the Unit 2 operating license, when issued, contain a July 1; 1984 completion date requirement.-
Additionally, we are in the process of requesting a change to License Condition 2.C. (28) (g) (1) for the Unit 1 Operating License (NPF-14) to reflect the July 1, 1984 date.
It is our position that extending the completion date f'r SPDS does not reduce our ability to deal with an emergency.
The reasons for this position remain the sana as those stated in PLA-1717 dated June 23, 1983.
