Dear Mr. Dietrich:
This refers to an investigation conducted by the NRC's Office of Investigations regarding activities at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. The Office of Investigations initiated the investigation to determine whether a firefighter at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station willfully failed to follow inspection procedure requirements during a fire extinguisher inspection.
Based on the evidence developed during the investigation, testimony, and document reviews, the NRC staff has determined that no violation of regulatory requirements existed. The NRC plans no further action related to this matter and considers this investigation closed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
