REFERENCE:
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR OPERATIONS, MEMORANDUM DATED AUGUST 30, 2024 Attached is the Office of the Inspector Generals (OIG) analysis and status of recommendations as discussed in the agencys response dated August 30, 2024. Based on this response, recommendations 1 and 4 are closed. Recommendations 2 and 3 were previously closed. All recommendations associated with this audit engagement are now closed.

Develop and publish a public description of the purposes and benefits of, and the controls on, the drop-in meeting process.
Agency Response Dated August 30, 2024:
Completed. The Office of the Executive Director for Operations (OEDO) published a description of drop-in meetings on the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) public webpage under frequently asked questions (FAQs) and the glossary.
OIG Analysis:
The OIG verified that there is a public description on the NRCs webpage frequently asked questions and glossary about the purposes and benefits of the drop-in meeting process. Therefore, this recommendation is now closed.

Audit Report AUDIT OF THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSIONS DROP-IN MEETING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES Status of Recommendations (OIG-22-A-12) 3 Recommendation 4:
Once the new guidance is developed, train all managers on the new guidance and controls for drop-in meetings and related interactions with external stakeholders.
Agency Response Dated August 30, 2024:
Completed. The OEDO provided training on Procedure-0225 to agency senior leadership on March 6, 2024. On March 14, 2024, the OEDO communicated the issuance of the new guidance in an agencywide yellow announcement and in the EDO Update. The communication of the new procedure was also linked in the EDO Update. The OEDO staff also offered training to individual headquarters and regional offices, as requested.
OIG Analysis:
The OIG reviewed the OEDO communication on the issuance of Procedure-0225. Additionally, the OIG verified that on March 6, 2024, senior agency leadership received training about the agencys policy on drop-in meetings. Therefore, this recommendation is considered closed.
