Varga, Director Division of Reactor Projects I/II REPORT ON THE EFFECT OF HURRICANE ANDREW ON THE TURKEY POINT NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION FROH AUGUST 20-30, 1992 GENERIC FOLLOW-ON ACTION WITS ITEH NO. 9300092 NUREG-1474, "Report on the Effect of Hurricane Andrew on the Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Station from August 20-30, 1992" is the result of the joint NRC/Industry Team review of the effects of Hurricane Andrew on the Turkey Point nuclear plant.
The report identifies circumstances and lessons learned from the impact of Hurricane Andrew and provides a basis for necessary staff follow-on actions.
By memorandum dated Hay 28,
- 1993, the Executive Director for Operations (EDO) has assigned responsibilities for staff follow-on actions.
I have been asked to coordinate the NRR actions.
Please review the report and the attached memorandum and action plan to ensure that the assignment of responsibilities for action items, as annotated in the enclosure, is correct.
The annotated assignment of responsibilities is consistent with the discussion during our meeting with AEOD on Hay 21, 1993.
Please provide a written summary of the plans, interim milestones and schedules for completion.
Please note that when more than one office is indicated as responsible, the first office listed has lead responsibility
- and, accordingly, should coordinate the response with the secondary response office.
