Il0iE TO READERS OF TlI-2 TR350 rip 15 The transcripts are of the first five days of talephone ccnversations recorded at the HRC Incident Response Center for T ll-2.
The talc;:none conversations at the incident Responso Center..ci e rocceded on a 19-channel tape which ran for a 24-hour period.
The transcripts vicre produced under contiact, and have not been revie..rd, corrected, or edi ted by NRC against the original tape.
As a irsult, NRC cannc*. be responsibic for their accuracy.
Expressions of epiniens in these transcripts do not necessarily reflect the policy of the Commissian, or the final determination or action taken regarling the various tecnnical matters discussed in the transcripts.
In i eading the transcripts, you will find that i orticos of conversations n'ay appear in more then one locatien in the tran.ciipts.
This duplicaticn occurs for the following reasons:
(1) conference calls involved the same ccnwesaticn being recorced on mul ti-channels; (2) during transcription, the tapes were pla;.cd bak a short cistance to help prevent gaps, thus causing some overlar; (3) cross-talk ecturred t.et.icen channels in clo,e prc ximity; therefore, porticns of conversations N;, have been transcriced from more than ene channel.
In addition, background noise, static, and cross-talk made the transcriptian process very dif ficult, and conpleteness virtually impc;sible.
Small portions of the transcripts have been deleted in order to pectect the personal privacy of the individuals involved.
The deicted information consists of home telephone nur.bcrs or home addresses,..hich represent approximately 957. of the deletiens; the nanes of private citicens (where other personal information is involved); the names of it.dividuals..ho may have been exposed to radiation; and the names and other perscnai information concerning reactor operators where trat information is directly associated with their operator examination tes t scores.
If you have any questions regarding the preparatico of the transcripts, please contact Ellen Whitlow, Freedom of Information and Privacy 3 ranch, Division of Rule, o:.a Records, on 492-8133.
