Reference:

1. Letter (NRC 2003-0113) from A. J. Cayla (NMC) to NRC Document Control Desk, "Emergency Plan and Emergency Plan Implementing Procedure Changes," dated November 25, 2003.

On November 25, 2003, Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC) submitted proposed changes to the Point Beach Nuclear Plant (PBNP) emergency preparedness program (Reference 1) to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The proposed changes to Emergency Plan Implementing Procedure (EPIP) 1.2 and Emergency Plan Section 5.0 were submitted to the NRC for review and approval pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(q).

As a result of a conference call conducted between members of the NRC staff and NMC on January 7, 2004, PBNP has re-evaluated the need for the submittal and has determined that the request is no longer desired. Therefore, NMC requests that the submittal (Reference 1) provided to the NRC on November 25, 2003 be withdrawn.

This letter contains no new commitments and no revisions to existing commitments.
