General Comment

The public places great trust in the NRC to evaluate the long-term viability of the Oconee Nuclear Reactors. Sustainability of these 60-year-old reactors over time must be guaranteed to assure the quality of life (human, animal, and natural) in the area. Long term preservation of faces and places must be the determining factor in the NRC decision to renew the Oconee Nuclear Reactor licenses.

As indicate in the EPA February 23, 2024 comment, the effects of Climate Change must be taken into consideration as part of the NRC Environmental Impact Statement for these reactors. The potential for extreme weather catastrophes hurricanes, tornados, flooding and the sustainability of the Lake Jocassee and Lake Keowee dams, must be evaluated.

For continued trust, the NRC must communicate detailed results of its Environmental Impact statement to the public.
