This letter serves as clarification as well as supercedes our letter NL-04-1623 dated September 1, 2004 concerning Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) organizational changes.

The Southern Nuclear Board of Directors approved the following organizational changes effective September 1, 2004:

Mr. J. B. Beasley, Jr. has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC). Mr. Beasley will assume day-to-day responsibility for operations at SNC. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer of SNC.

Also, Mr. Jeffrey T. Gasser has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer of SNC. Until a replacement is named for his current position, Mr. Gasser will also remain responsible for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant.
