Duane Arnold Energy Center Inservice Testing Interval Extension The purpose of this letter is to inform the NRC that Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC) will extend the current third inservice testing (IST) interval for the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC), in accordance with the provisions of the ASME Code.
The Code Edition applicable to the DAEC for the third [ST interval is ASME Section Xi, 1989 Edition (with no Addenda).
The first IST interval began on February 1, 1975 and ended on January 31, 1985; the second interval ended on January 31, 1995. The third IST interval would have ended on January 31, 2005. This interval will be extended by 1 year, as permitted by IWA-2430(d), and will end on January 31, 2006. As required by IWA-2430(d), this adjustment to the third interval for the DAEC IST program will not cause the fourth interval to be altered by more than 1 year from the original pattern of intervals.
This letter contains no new commitments and no revisions to existing commitments.
