KAIROS POWER LLC - CONFIRMATION REVIEW OF TOPICAL REPORT, KP-FHR MECHANISTIC SOURCE TERM METHODOLOGY, REVISION 4 (EPID NO: L-2026-LRO-0007)
Dear Darrell Gardner:
By letter dated January 29, 2026, Kairos Power, LLC (Kairos) submitted for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff review KP-TR-012, KP-FHR Mechanistic Source Term Methodology, Revision 4 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML26029A417). The staff determined, during its review, that the changes presented in Revision 4 of KP-TR-012 were minimal and that the review could be conducted using the NRCs SE Confirmation Review process as outlined in LIC-500, Topical Report Process, Revision 9 (ML20247G279).
This letter provides the NRC staffs conclusions of its confirmation review, documented in NRC Form 895, for the Kairos topical report (TR) KP-TR-012, Revision 4.
The NRC staff provided Kairos a draft of the NRC Form 895 for the purpose of identifying proprietary and export-controlled information on March 3, 2025.
The NRC staff requests that Kairos publish an accepted version of this TR within 3 months of receipt of this letter. The accepted version shall incorporate this letter, the enclosed NRC Form 895, and the staffs SE related to Revision 3 of KP-TR-012 (ML22105A562) after the title page. The accepted version shall include an "-A" (designated accepted) following the TR identification number.
