Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-41 Docket Numbers STN 50-528 and 72-44 Registration of Dry Spent Fuel Transportable Storage Canisters Identification Numbers AMZDFX193 and AMZDFX195 Vertical Concrete Cask Identification Numbers AMZDNE193 and AMZDNE197 In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 72.212(b)(2), Arizona Public Service Company (APS) is registering the use of dry spent fuel storage casks to store spent fuel under a 10 CFR Part 72 general license at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI). The information below is provided for the following:
Transportable storage canister (TSC) identification number AMZDFX193, used to store spent fuel within vertical concrete cask (VCC) identification number AMZDNE193, beginning on January 30, 2026.
Transportable storage canister (TSC) identification number AMZDFX195, used to store spent fuel within vertical concrete cask (VCC) identification number AMZDNE197, beginning on February 6, 2026.
Licensee's Name:
APS is the operating agent for PVNGS.
PVNGS Units 1, 2, and 3 have seven owners who are licensees. The owners/licensees are APS, Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, El Paso Electric Company, Southern California Edison Company, Public Service Company of New Mexico, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and Southern California Public Power Authority. As specified in the PVNGS renewed operating licenses, APS is authorized to act as agent for the PVNGS licensees and has exclusive responsibility and control over the physical construction, operation and maintenance of the facility.
