LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNIT 1 - WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST AND PROPOSED ALTERNATIVE (EPID L-2025-LLA-0167 AND EPID L-2025-LLR-0090)
Dear Mr. Mudrick:
By letter LG-25-132 dated October 9, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML25282A072), Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (the licensee) applied for an amendment to Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-39 for the Limerick Generating Station, Unit 1. The licensee requested the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to modify the facility technical specifications to allow a one-time extension to performing local leakage rate tests for four primary containment isolation valves. The licensee also included a proposed alternative (i.e., Alternative Request GVRR-12) in the same letter as the amendment request requesting NRC staff to authorize deferral of leakage tests for three pressure isolation valves.
On January 20, 2026, a notice of consideration of issuance of amendment and proposed no significant hazards consideration determination was published in the Federal Register (91 FR 2378) for the license amendment request.
Subsequently, by letter LG-26-031 dated January 30, 2026 (ML26030A252), the licensee withdrew the amendment request and the proposed alternative.
The purpose of this letter is to notify the licensee that the NRC is treating the above-cited license amendment request and proposed alternative as withdrawn.
C. Mudrick Regarding the above-cited amendment request, the NRC staff has filed the enclosed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
