February 4, 2026 Mr. Cleveland Reasoner Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nuclear Officer Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation P.O. Box 411 Burlington, KS 66839

SUBJECT:

WOLF CREEK GENERATING STATION, UNIT 1 - CORRECTION TO ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT NO. 246 TO IMPLEMENT GENERIC SAFETY ISSUE-191 (EPID L-2024-LLA-0125)

Dear Mr. Reasoner:

On January 14, 2026 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession No. ML25317A782), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 246 to Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-42 for Wolf Creek Generating Station, Unit 1 (Wolf Creek). The amendment allows the use of a risk-informed approach to address safety issues discussed in U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)

Generic Safety Issue (GSI)-191, Assessment of Debris Accumulation on PWR [Pressurized Water Reactor] Sump Performance. In addition the amendment revised Technical Specification (TS) 3.5.2, ECCS [Emergency Core Cooling System] - Operating; TS 3.5.3, ECCS-Shutdown; and added a new TS 3.6.8, Containment Sumps, to section 3.6, Containment Systems. The amendment incorporates Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF) Traveler TSTF-567, Revision 1, Add Containment Sump TS to Address GSI-191 Issues, dated August 2, 2017 (ML17214A813).

An administrative error on the part of the NRC staff was made on the Attachment page, to Amendment No. 246, in the REMOVE and INSERT TS pages. The administrative error involved an improper indication that TS pages 3.6-22 and 3.6-23 were removed, when the line items for these TS pages should have --- in the REMOVE column rather than the TS page numbers, as these were new TS pages.

The NRC staff has determined that this error was inadvertently introduced during the preparation of the license amendment. This administrative error does not change any of the conclusions in the safety evaluation and does not affect the no significant hazards consideration as published in the Federal Register for Amendment No. 246. Accordingly, the enclosure to this letter has a copy of the revised and corrected Wolf Creek Attachment page to Amendment No. 246. A revision bar in the right margin identifies the area that has been corrected.

Sincerely,
