PALISADES NUCLEAR PLANT - EXEMPTION FROM REQUIREMENT RELATED TO SUBMISSION OF A SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (EPID L-2025-SLR-0003)
Dear Michael Mlynarek:
In response to your letter dated June 26, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted the enclosed exemption from a specific requirement of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.109(b) for the Palisades Nuclear Plant. Pursuant to this exemption, if Holtec Palisades, LLC submits a subsequent license renewal application for the Palisades Nuclear Plant by March 24, 2028, and if the NRC staff finds it acceptable for docketing, the Palisades Nuclear Plant will be in timely renewal under NRC regulations until the NRC has made a final determination on the subsequent license renewal application.
A copy of the exemption is enclosed. The exemption has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2, Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
