NRC Notification to the State of Nebraska Regarding Issuance of Amendment for the Fort Calhoun Station Date:

I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving holiday! I recently took over from Jack Parrot as the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) project manager for Fort Calhoun, and Ross Wanger is my backup. We wanted to make you aware that the NRC is preparing to issue a license amendment for the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit 1. The amendment revises the licensing basis to approve Revision 2 of the Fort Calhoun License Termination Plan (LTP), which addresses changes needed for grouting of excavated trenches in the auxiliary building as well as additional grouted areas in subsurface structures. The amendment was submitted on June 18, 2024 (ML24177A132), as supplemented by letters dated October 2, 2024 (ML24276A217), January 16, 2025 (ML25016A212), and July 31, 2025 (ML25218A293). In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.91(b), I am notifying you of the proposed issuance of this amendment.
Please reply if the State of Nebraska has comments by December 16, 2025.
