Dear Dr. Blair:
By letter dated September 3, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML25247A175), Idaho State University (License R-110, Docket no. 050-284) submitted a request to extend the due date for the initial final safety analysis report (FSAR) update, as required by order dated February 6, 2025 (ML24354A200). The proposed request would modify the initial FSAR update from May 29, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The licensee explained that the additional time would allow a single staff member to revise the format and content of its current FSAR in accordance with NUREG-1537, Part 1, Guidelines for Preparing and Reviewing Applications for the Licensing of Non-Power Reactors: Format and Content.
By letter dated October 20, 2025 (ML25293A252) Idaho State University requested to withdraw the request to extend the due date for the initial FSAR update as the additional time requested is not necessary for the preparation of the initial FSAR update. The NRC acknowledges the withdrawal of the request. The NRC staff activities on the review have ceased.
