Figure 9.3-1 is based on the site areas considered in the Alternative Site Study. The size of the sites for the site selection study included 344 acres for Site A, 235 acres for Site B, 166 acres for Site C, and 193 acres for site D. The acceptability of these site sizes was based on preliminary design input to include a minimum of 40 acres for the power block with the remaining area to accommodate construction laydown and Air-Cooled Condensers. This was considered as a minimum acceptable area to support the project when evaluating alternative sites.
and design maturation. The proposed site area of 1537 acres accommodates the area outlined in ER Figure 3.1-3. As can be seen in Figure 3.1-3, the project site has been expanded to include additional borrow area, pipe intake, transmission, and steam line corridors, and part of the SDO facility. Additional laydown and staging areas have been expanded for the proposed site to include additional staging areas northwest of Jesse Rigby Road and northeast of the pipe intake corridor.
This is done to provide a bounding land area when evaluating environmental impacts for the proposed site and it would be expected that similar expansions of project site area would be considered for alternative sites, if selected as well. However, for consistency, the site areas as outlined in the alternative site study were considered when evaluating alternative sites in ER Chapter 9
