Dear Jessica Lovett and Tony Brown,
In accordance with UNIVERSITY OF UTAH - APPROVAL OF EXEMPTION FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF 10 CFR PART 55, OPERATORS LICENSES (EPID L-2024-NLE-0003) DATED: MAY 16, 2025 (ML2507A203) as amended by letters dated February 10, 2025 (ML25050A613) and September 2, 2025 (ML25245A180), Senior Reactor Operators Andrew Allison and Edward Goodell successfully completed the special refresher training at Kansas State University (KSU) by performing the following power manipulations:
(1) from reactor shutdown, performed reactor startup to 100 kW (2) performed a down power manipulation to 30 kW (3) performed an up-power manipulation to 90kW (4) shutdown the reactor UUTR (University of Utah TRIGA Reactor) facility would like to give special thanks to Alan Cebula and Robert Seymour from KSU for graciously hosting us to utilize their reactor. Attached is a record from KSU logs that reflects Andrew Allison and Edward Goodell stationed as trainees for their facility.
UUTR facility intends to continue loading reactor fuel towards criticality as previously discussed via the exemption request with the NRC.
