Enclosed is export license application XSNM3856, which was received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on August 22, 2025. In this application, Framatome Inc.
requests to export 45,000 kilograms of low-enriched uranium contained in fuel assemblies for use as reload fuel in Unit 2 at the Onagawa Nuclear Power Station in Japan.
Assurances from Japan that the material will be subject to all the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation is required. Please note that the material has origins from Russia, Australia, Canada, England, the United States, and France. Therefore, it has obligations to Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and EURATOM.
