- Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station (NMPNS) Unit 1 (NMP1) is operated by Constellation Energy Generation (CEG), the licensee and applicant
- The NMPNS site is approximately 846 acres
- The site boundary extends into Lake Ontario
- Located within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Scriba, Oswego County, New York

Methodology

Archeological and architectural surveys performed in May 2025 of the 846-acre NMPNS site; surveys will be submitted to NYS SHPO 14 archeological resources identified within the NMPNS site; all located outside of operational areas No onsite cultural resources listed in National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and no structures within the NMPNS property have been documented through the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) or Historic American Engineering Record (HAER)
Pre-1980 buildings and structures were reviewed for NRHP inclusion - none were recommended for inclusion 174 offsite cultural resources listed on the New York cultural resources database: 138 aboveground resources, 35 archaeological sites, 1 shipwreck No adverse effects are anticipated to any cultural resources onsite or in the vicinity during the NMP1 SPEO ER Discussion Items: Cultural Resources 11
Full Severe Accident Mitigation Alternatives (SAMA) analysis submitted as part of the original License Renewal Application The SAMA evaluation process follows the conclusions of NUREG-1437 Revision 2 SAMA and severe accidents are now Category 1 issues and do not require a plant-specific evaluation A "new and significant information review" was required Concluded that no there is no new and significant information related to the SAMA analysis ER Discussion: SAMA 12
ER Lessons Learned - LR Review 13 Incorporate lessons learned from previously submitted ERs and SAMA Analyses into the NMP1 SLR ER:
Agency Consultations Alternatives SAMA Evaluations Review and incorporate applicable information into NMP1 ER based on previously submitted LR/SLR ER Requests for Additional Information (RAIs).
CEG will utilize an online SharePoint portal in support of the SLR ER audit.
Regular check-in meetings between CEG and NRC PMs to ensure alignment with current regulatory guidelines such as:

No previous cultural resources surveys within Ginna site. An architectural history survey was completed in 2025; surveys will be submitted to NYS SHPO No onsite cultural resources listed in National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
No structures within the Ginna property have been documented through the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) or Historic American Engineering Record (HAER).
Pre-1980 buildings and structures were reviewed for NRHP inclusion - none were recommended for inclusion 119 offsite cultural resources listed on the New York cultural resources database: 111 above ground resources, 7 archaeological resources, 1 shipwreck.
No adverse effects are anticipated to any cultural resource sites during the SPEO.
