Dear Director Warden:
Enclosed is an export license application, PXB114.08, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on August 12, 2025, from Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations, LLC requesting an amendment to export license PXB114.07. The current license authorizes the export of specified quantities of americium-241/beryllium, americium-241, cesium-137, cobalt-60, and radium-226 to Iraq for use in wire line operations, well logging operations, and surface monitoring.
The purpose of this amendment is to extend the date of expiration by two years.
Before taking action on this request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (AEA), as amended.
