SUMMARY
OF CLOSED HYBRID SECOND PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING FOR WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY TOPICAL REPORT WCAP-19042 (EPID: L-2025-LRM-0069)
On September 3, 2025, a closed second pre-submittal meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), Division of Operating Reactor Licensing, Division of Engineering and External Hazards, and Division of Reactor Oversight, Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse) representatives, and Mirion Technologies representatives. The meeting was a follow-up pre-submittal meeting to the pre-submittal meeting held on May 20, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML25147A061). The meeting was held in a hybrid format (in-person at NRC headquarters in Rockville, MD, and virtual attendance). The purpose of the meeting was for Westinghouse representatives to present proprietary information related to the future submittal of Westinghouse Topical Report (TR) WCAP-19042. The Westinghouse representatives provided details on the software architecture, quality assurance, common cause failure coping strategy, TRs scope, and the submittal timeline. No regulatory decisions were made during the meeting.
By letter dated August 28, 2025, Westinghouse submitted presentation slides to the NRC (ML25241A075). The meeting notice is available in ADAMS (ML25189A152). The list of attendees is enclosed.
