Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an application received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) dated July 8, 2025, from Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations, LLC, requesting amendment No. 2 to export license PXB237.01. This license presently authorizes the export of Category 3 through 5 quantities of Americium-241, Americium-241/Beryllium, Cesium-137, Radium-226 and Cobalt-60 to their subsidiary located in Pakistan. The sealed sources will be used for oil and gas well logging operations and maintenance.
The purpose of this amendment is to extend the date of expiration from September 30, 2027, to September 30, 2029.
Since Pakistan is on the restricted destinations list (10 CFR Part 110.29), before taking action on this amendment request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
