ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO EVESR LICENSE TO ACCEPT VBWR IN-SITU RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL (EPID L-2025-LLA-0071)
Dear Luke M. Self:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing the enclosed Amendment No. 8 to Facility License No. DR-10 for the Empire State Atomic Development Agency (ESADA)
Vallecitos Experimental Superheat Reactor (EVESR). This amendment is in response to your application dated April 11, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML25102A001) in which NorthStar Vallecitos, LLC submitted to the NRC a license amendment request to accept the in-situ radioactive material from the Vallecitos Boiling Water Reactor License No. DPR-1. Additionally, the amendment made editorial changes both to license conditions and technical specifications, deleted various unnecessary reporting requirements and removed a prohibition on removing the EVESR reactor pressure vessel.
