I just wanted to share some information we collected since our last meeting. Once Beau is back in the office, we will get back with you regarding the options discussed below. contains baseline information regarding Clinton Power Station (CPS) and provides links to the license renewal application (which consists of an environmental report and safety evaluation report). Per Section 1.1.6 of the License Renewal Application - No physical plant alterations or modifications have been identified as necessary in connection with this application (i.e., license renewal). This is also reiterated within the applicants environmental report, and in Sections 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 of the draft supplemental environmental impact statement. We are also attaching a few photos from the environmental report which depict the facility site layout, aerial that depicts NPDES outfalls, a post-construction photograph of CPS Looking Southeast from 1993, and a couple of aerial images that show seasonal variation of the site from 2022 and 2025.

NRCs Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement - Supplement 63 to NUREG-1437, Re: ML25072A105.
Section 2.1 contains information regarding the facility description.
Section 2.2.1 - Plant operation activities during the LR term would be the same as, or similar to, those occurring during the current license term. CEGs ER states that CPS will continue to operate during the LR term in the same manner as during the current license term except for additional aging management programs, as necessary.
Section 2.2.2 - As stated in Section 2.3 of the CEG ER, CEG has identified no LR-related refurbishment or replacement actions needed to maintain the functionality of systems, structures, and components, consistent with the current licensing basis, during the proposed LR term (CEG 2024-TN10806).
Plant Description - License Renewal Application (LRA) (Safety - ML24045A026)
Per Section 1.1.6 of the LRA - No physical plant alterations or modifications have been identified as necessary in connection with this application.
Section 1.4 of the provides a description of the power plant.
o Clinton Power Station (CPS) was originally planned as a two-unit site, but only one of the two originally planned units was constructed.
o CPS, Unit 1 is a boiling water reactor nuclear steam supply system designed and supplied by the General Electric Company and designated as a BWR/6, with a Mark III containment. The containment is a right cylindrical, reinforced concrete, steel-lined pressure vessel with a hemispherical dome. The drywell encloses the reactor pressure vessel and is a cylindrical reinforced concrete structure with a removable
steel head. The pressure suppression pool is a steel-lined concrete cylinder and serves as a heat sink. The containment encloses the reactor system, drywell, and suppression pool.
o The CPS with its associated approximately 4900-acre man-made cooling reservoir (Lake Clinton) is located in the eastern half of DeWitt County with the arms of the lake extending into the northeastern area of the county.
o Lake Clinton was formed by the construction of a dam downstream from the confluence of Salt Creek and North Fork of Salt Creek about 56 miles east of where Salt Creek joins the Sangamon River.
o The power generation complex consists of several buildings. The principal structures located on the station site are the containment, auxiliary building, fuel building, turbine building, radwaste building, control building, diesel generator and HVAC building, circulating water screen house, service building, makeup water pump house, switchyard, outdoor storage tanks, permanent warehouse, and gatehouse.
