NRC Pre-Application Meeting June 18, 2025

Terminal Points used for testing outboard A MSIV in Control Room Testing is performed from the Control Room.

Intent is to break (de-energize) the 125 VDC circuit from terminal points in the control room to the RPS logic.

Leads are lifted at the terminal points shown.

A test switch and high-speed chart recorder is connected to those two points (in parallel with the MSIV Limit Switch contact).

This is repeated for the inboard MSIV.

Terminal Points used for testing outboard A MSIV in Control Room A high-speed chart recorder is connected at the optical isolators upstream of the RPS logic.

The switch is opened to simulate an open MSIV Limit Switch sensor contact (MSIV closure signal).

Chart recorder data is used to determine response time from switch opening to RPS actuation.

Repeat for the three remaining pairs of MSIVs.
